Well,
it's already October. Don't know how that happened. To
sum up my past month: classes, work, friends, and very
little sleep. I've been getting scolded for not updating
my site. I know it's been awhile. I've been waiting for
spare time but that's not going to happen so I'll just
make time (less sleep). Version II of VisualRiddle is
on it's way. It will have all of the features I've been
babbling about finally implemented. I'm also setting up
an affiliate program with DeviantPrints to sell my artwork
online. Speaking of prints, my newest one, Obliquity,
is on the DAprints bestseller list for this month!

Damn..
I really suck. I'm delaying everything another 2 weeks
until I'm settled in nicely in my new apartment at school.
However, I've decided to make a few changes with the site
and what I want from it. I'm going to add weekly (maybe
every 2 weeks) articles, a user art gallery and forum
to turn the site into more of a community (mostly based
on new media and art, but pretty much anything goes).
I'll be starting up contests with prizes! And I'll be
consolidating all my works into one area and then have
a wallpaper gallery. The 'chapters' I've been blabbing
about keep morphing in my head and I have some newer,
different ideas for them. So I'll be taking that out until
I have one done and then will present it in my projects
area. I think I may use video, and flash integrated with
3D to create some nifty stuff... not that anyone cares!
In
other news, the Penticton holiday was great (I worked
on my non-existant tan). My leg is getting better. And
I've been accepted into an up and coming arts and entertainment
company called Niaterra, Inc. I'm also
releasing two new prints within the next few days. You
know you want them.

I'm
delaying the forum and other plans for the site for 2
- 3 weeks as life seems to have gotten in the way again.
Going to rockin' Hinton, AB, for a client job and then
off to blazin' Penticton, BC, for a mini vacation getaway.
My
third print is almost finished! I'm also going to add
a user gallery for graphics and organize my art and wallpapers
into 'albums'. How exciting. Some more client jobs coming
up as well. Oh ya, and school starts in just 3 weeks.
Bring on the stress...

It's
been awhile since my last update. I've been busy recovering
from my knee surgery. It's going pretty well. I'll be
walking within the next 48 hours.
I've
created my first print which will be sold online. It's
called Frozen in
Time and can be found in the Prints
section of the site. Remember, I'm a starving artist /
student so any support via print purchasing would be extremely
nice, not to mention the purdy art you can put in your
room. Plus, when I get famous (gimme 2 years), you'll
have a collector's item... *wakes up*. Anywho, I've made
the print into a wallpaper as well here.
I
have added some content to the homepage as well as a new
section called the Battle
Field which are graphic showdowns of a sort. Actually,
they aren't really "battles" at all, but that's
the common name, so please check it out. And, great news;
Neil (a hilarious and talented writer) of the Molson
Muscle Networks has agreed to write some articles
for the site once the forums and main content are up (hopefully
by September).

A
big update here- Had a busy weekend, but it was fun. A
60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, my super wonderful
girlfriend, Tara, came out to stay with me for a few days,
met my uncle for the first time in my life, went to the
Stampede and spent all my money (but won in the casino!),
did client work and visited the hospital for pre-surgery
information. Speaking of surgery, I am getting my ACL
reconstructive surgery tomorrow morning. Have to leave
for the hospital at 6am and won't be able to leave until
around 7pm. I'm not exactly looking forward to it, nor
the 9-12 months of rehab, but I'll do whatever it takes
to play soccer again. Plus, they give me a bunch of happy
pills to make the pain go away. Wish me luck!
In
other news, I may have some more possible client work,
which is good cause I have to make up for missing my 2
month work trip. I've added 3 videos and another wallpaper
and artwork to the site. Lot's more to come. I've also
started on my first major print that will be available
to buy from the site. I can't wait to get that finished.
I
just bought two new SNES controllers all the way from
Japan. And you know why I love Japan? Because of this:
click
here to watch! And of course: this!
Simply amazing. Here's something else that's funny:
the
Gods must have a sense of humor!

July 1st, 2003, 12:42am - Canada Day
In
light of this wonderful day, I'd like everyone (Canadians
and Americans) to read this article I've posted.
to read.
Oh,
and here's something interesting and amusing:
Fact
1: On June 30th, I cracked a "stupid"
joke about George Bush on this website.
Fact
2: Within two hours of that joke, I had visitors
from both the US Government and US military view
this site. Let's just say they aren't my usual traffic.
Coincidence?
I think not.

Today
has been a good day, more or less... besides the fact
my house was attacked by ants, wasps, and gophers.
At least the dog is having a field day. I've changed the
featured section to a Spotlight
section which showcase various talented individuals and
their works that I come across on this internet thing.
I gained three potential clients today, so I'm excited
about that. In my spare time I'll be putting together
some videos and posting them online.

I
just got back from seeing 28 Days Later with my
friend, Shannon. I'll try not to spoil anything if you're
going to go see it. She called it, "dumb... but awesome".
I sort of agree, although I think I enjoyed it more. You
have to be prepared to watch "stupid
people" though, and I guess it's realistic,
with all the stupid people out there, those who survive
(I'm not giving anything away), it's most likely that
they aren't the brightest lamps on the porch. By the end
of the movie, you'll learn to enjoy the screaming of people
getting their bodies ripped apart. All in all, it was
low budget (compared to Titanic) and it showed,
but the director made a work of art out of it and well
worth the $8 bucks.. except I paid $14. I give it two
broken thumbs up. If you don't like blood or the dark,
don't see it. Otherwise, it can't hurt.

June 29th, 2003, 3:34pm
Well,
I am starting to get some decent traffic on the site now.
Still haven't added to search engines, but that's on the
list. Am working on a new client (Health & Safety
Conference Society of Alberta). Have added a bunch of
new affiliates.
I also just added the Buy
Prints, Site
Map, and Videos
sections, although the content is not up yet. Also added
some new random splash images to the home page. I'm excited
for the Calgary
Stampede! Yahooooooooooooooooooo.com!
(I still
don't like cowboys)

I
think today was the most unproductive day I've ever had
in my life; even more unproductive than that day I slept
until dark. It's a good thing I work best at night. On
the other hand, I did get in over four hours of Castle
time! What's that, you ask? It's some stupid Flash
game which is extremely addictive. So if you're bored,
try a game. But be warned- make sure you have the next
3 - 8 hours free. You can find it here
on the xgenstudios
site. For anyone who tries, you have to get a least 3
million points and past level 36 to beat what I did.
I
did some updates to the site tonight including a random
image displayer (the main splash image on the home page).
I have added 7 images which can possibly show up when
you view the home page. I also added a link on the shoutbox
to view past shouts (thanks for the idea, Jeremy!). Oh,
and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my parents, although I doubt
they've ever been to this website.

Isn't
there supposed to be nice weather during the summer? I
guess I did the see the sun last week, so I can't complain
too much. Now that I have time, I'm giving the site a
facelift and adding some new sections. In completely
unrelated news, I plan on watching all 197 minutes of
Schindler's List tonight.

I'm
now officially booked for surgery on July 11th so I will
not be going to the States. Lots more to come to VR very
soon. Need sleep. *nods off*

Just
got home from Alegria - a show put on by Cirque
du Soleil. Some amazing stuff. The FireMan chucked
one of his "firesticks" at the audience by accident.
Other than that, they were right on. How is it June already?
I honestly don't know. But what I do know is that I've
been busy busy busy! Check out my recent
works for 4 new projects including my business
domain and 2 new client sites. In other news,
my trip to the States may not happen, so if I'm home all
summer, I'll definitely have the first installment of
VisualRiddle.com up a lot faster. I also have a forum
and webcam in the plans. I'm off to go camping. Adios.

I
finally find out the results of the first surgery on my
knee tomorrow morning. I figure I'll be back playing soccer
again by Spring 2005. Already can't wait!! I just updated
the works section
with two new client projects. Other than that, I'm looking
forward to camping in Sylvan
lake with my buddies next weekend!

Ah,
what a relief! The site is finally up. Next up is the
completion of my other domain, jamieeaston.com
and a bunch of client sites. I will be finishing off this
work soon as I flying to Pittsfield, MA., in the
US of A on June 21st to work at a sports
camp - should be fun! Please take a look around
and leave me a message if you feel up to it. Ciao. :)
